Raspberry Pi mesh lab

Build a Meshtastic® base station, BBS, or monitoring host with a Raspberry Pi.

Choose a starting point

A Pi runs meshtasticd with a compatible radio HAT, or hosts software connected to a separate Meshtastic node. Start with one working radio before adding dashboards.

Put the essentials on the bench

  • A supported Pi, microSD card, and suitable power supply.
  • A compatible radio HAT and correct regional antenna.
  • Network access for installation and updates.
  • A second node and an operator to confirm a two-way message.

Fit hardware with power disconnected. Attach the LoRa antenna before powering the radio. Confirm the exact board revision and pin configuration against its maker’s documentation.
